The problem

The main application had been previously used in other countries for the same goal, to offer support and tutorials on how to use te Microsoft Live@Edu suite of applications.

Our task was to create a localization application, to be used by a local firm, to do the proper translation.

As the Silverlight application, had been developed by a third party, we had no access to to the source code, and had to do all the work by tweaking with the various XML files that were used for configuration and storing data.

The solution

This was a very smooth project for us, as we had plenty of time to create an adequate solution that would help the firm in charge of localizing content work with the already existing data structure.

To offer access to the XML configuration files and other data files we used the Linq to XML capabilities of the .NET Framework and presented the data in various ASP.NET Forms.

The job demanded that we tweak and replace a number of photos and icons existing in the application with new ones from a media bank that would better suite the East European environment which also proved our photo-editing abilities.
